Overview
Reimagining siri’s experience to feel more natural, responsive, and intuitive.
MTN Skills Academy is a pan-African learning platform built to deliver upskilling content across multiple MTN Opco markets. As Interface Designer at PlusNarrative, I worked on the UI and UX for the platform, designing an experience that had to hold together across different regions, connectivity conditions, and user literacy levels — without fragmenting into a dozen local variants.
Problem
Designing for one country is hard enough. Designing a single platform meant to serve multiple African markets at once meant reconciling different user contexts, data constraints, and content needs inside one coherent system — while keeping the interface simple enough for users with varying digital literacy and, in some markets, unreliable connectivity.
Solution
Today, MTN Skills Academy features a range of courses from LinkedIn Learning, GSMA, and Coursera. Users can also find expert career guidance via MTN’s partnership with PACE Career Centre. The free-to-use platform offers country-specific content based on current market demands and location-specific scholarship opportunities. AccessiBe allows users to customise the PWA to accommodate disabilities, including visual impairments. In future, French-speaking users will be able to translate the content they see at the tap of a button.
